A Lossiemouth man has appeared in court charged with the rape of a young child, the BBC Scotland news website has learned.
Paul O'Neill, 47, was charged under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009 when he appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Monday.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
A 37-year-old woman reported over the same inquiry was freed pending further investigation and did not appear.
