Police are revisiting the scene of a fatal crash at Aberdeen's Beach Esplanade and appealing for more potential witnesses to come forward.

Council worker Jacqueline Lyon, 47, of Cove, died after her red BMW was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Golf last Monday afternoon.

A week on, Grampian Police officers will speak to motorists at the scene of the collision.

A 23-year-old man was due in court on Monday in connection with the crash.

Insp Ian Kirkwood said: "We have spoken to several motorists who were on the Beach Esplanade around the time of the collision and their accounts have been very helpful to us.

"We still however need to trace a couple of vehicles which travelled along the Beach Esplanade towards the Bridge of Don just minutes before the collision.

"They are a white Ford Fiesta, which left the Asda car park on Links Road around 2pm that day before joining the Esplanade, and a white BMW 4x4, either an X3 or an X5.

"I would ask that the drivers get in touch with us as they may have some important information which could be of help to us."

He added: "Also, we're keen to speak to anybody that saw a red BMW travelling from Bridge of Don around the time of the collision."
