Council worker Jacqueline Lyon, 47, of Cove, died after her red BMW was in collision with a black Volkswagen Golf on Monday afternoon.

Relatives said in a statement: "We are utterly devastated by the loss of Jacqueline.

"She was a warm, loving and generous woman and the hole left in our lives will be impossible to fill."

The statement added: "Jacqueline was extremely family-orientated and was well loved by her colleagues at the city council, where she worked for 20 years.

"She leaves behind a loving family, including husband Mark and daughter Nicola.

"We now have to begin the incredibly difficult task of trying to come to terms with her loss and rebuild our lives."
