Stricken yacht Reality towed back to Aberdeen

A yacht which ran into trouble off Aberdeen has been towed to safety after a rescue operation was launched.

The alarm was raised by the solo skipper of Reality about 13 miles off the coast at about 07:10.

The man reported something wrong with the yacht's fuel system, causing engine problems. A coastguard spokesman said he reported being very tired.
