Moray sea rescue woman dies after fall

Burghead The woman is thought to have fallen from a cliff into the sea

A young woman has died after being rescued from the sea at Burghead in Moray.

It is understood the alarm was raised shortly before 14:00 BST on Saturday, following reports someone had fallen from a clifftop.

Emergency services were called to the scene and the casualty was airlifted by helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, where she died.

Grampian Police said that the death is not believed to be suspicious.
