Greyfriars Kirk in Aberdeen put back on the market

Greyfriars John Knox Church and Marischal College The Church of Scotland had hoped to sell Greyfriars Kirk for around £1.25m

An Aberdeen city centre church is going back on the market after it failed to attract a "suitable offer".

The Church of Scotland, who own the building, had been inviting offers of about £1.25m.

Greyfriars Kirk sits adjacent to the city council's headquarters at Marischal College.

Last year Marischal College was professionally cleaned, leaving the church a darker grey and prompting some to describe it as an eyesore.

The Church of Scotland said it did not receive what it would consider to be an acceptable offer and as a result the property would be re-advertised
