Police were called in after an alert in the town of Banff
A teenager has appeared in court for a second time charged under the explosive substances act after an incident in the Aberdeenshire town of Banff.
Residents were evacuated from their homes and a 100m cordon was erected around seven streets in the Low Shore area earlier this month.
Connor Ward, 19, faced three charges when he appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
He faced two charges under the Explosive Substances Act 1883 and another charge under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010.
