Woman arrested after shop dummy entered as Aberdeen council election candidate

A woman has been arrested after a shop dummy was entered as a candidate for the council elections in Aberdeen.

The mannequin - which is understood to have been seized by police - originally appeared on the list of potential councillors for the Hazlehead, Ashley and Queens Cross ward.

Grampian Police said a woman, 63, has been charged under the Representation of the People Act.

The dummy was entered under the name Helena Torry.
