Firefighters tackle grass blaze at Finzean near Banchory

A large grass fire has raged for more than four hours near Banchory in Aberdeenshire.

More than 50 firefighters and 30 estate workers from the Finzean area tackled the blaze, which began at about 15:30. It was out by about 20:00.

At one stage the flames stretched for about 1.5 miles (2.4km). The cause of the fire is unknown.

Grampian Fire and Rescue said it was a reminder of the risk of wild land fires in the current weather conditions.
