Human remains found at fire-hit Aberdeenshire cottage

Human remains have been found at an Aberdeenshire cottage where there was a fire on Friday afternoon.

The emergency services were called to the property at Rhynie, near Huntly, to tackle the flames at about 16:30.

Firefighters were unable to enter the house due to the intensity of the blaze.

An investigation was launched on Saturday amid concerns the occupier may have been inside. Police said the remains had still to be identified.
