Proposal to protect Bervie Braes homes to be considered

Bervie Braes Dozens of households had to be evacuated at Bervie Braes last year

Proposals to protect homes from landslips at Bervie Braes in Stonehaven are due to come before councillors.

Dozens of households had to be evacuated last year after heavy rainfall affected the area.

Proceeding to tender for a revised slope remediation scheme is being recommended.

The new scheme is being developed within a £3m budget that has been allocated by the Scottish government and Aberdeenshire Council.

The report will be considered by councillors at the policy and resources committee.

The aim is for work to start at the site in April next year.
