Woman jailed for hiding crack in Aberdeen shrubbery

A woman who hid money and crack cocaine worth more than £40,000 in shrubbery at her Aberdeen flat has been jailed.

Pauline Crofts, 24, of Telford in Shropshire, admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs between July and August, 2009.

Police found the Class A drug and £17,000 hidden in the communal garden of her Holburn Street flat after receiving intelligence.

Crofts was jailed for three-and-a-half years at the High Court in Perth.

Defence counsel Michael Anderson said Crofts had become addicted to crack after getting into a relationship with a drug dealer.

He said: "She gained no material wealth at all. Her life was dedicated to the pursuit of getting drugs for herself."

Lord Doherty told Crofts he had no option but to impose a significant jail term.
