Two hurt in serious Aberdeenshire snow plough collision

The emergency services were called to the scene on the A93

Two men were taken to hospital following a serious collision between a snow plough and a car on an Aberdeenshire road.

The accident happened on the A93 Dess to Dinnet road, about four miles from Kincardine O'Neill, at about 0955 GMT.

Grampian Police said the drivers of both vehicles were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

The 64-year-old car driver, who was cut free, was said to be in a "serious but stable" condition.

The 45-year-old driver of the snow plough escaped with minor injuries.

The road was closed for about four hours.

Sergeant Neil Morrison said: "As a result of the collision the driver of the car received a significant leg injury.

"Our inquiries are still at an early stage, however, we are keeping an open mind and not discounting the possibility of slippery road conditions being a contributory factor."
