Probe into possible Moray village housing contamination

An inquiry is to examine if homes built on the site of a former sawmill in a Moray village were constructed on contaminated land.

Moray Council is to carry out ground investigations at Mossmill Park in Mosstodloch.

The homes were built in the 1970s but routine research has found the potential for contamination from timber treatment at the former mill.

Homeowners are being contacted and there will be a meeting on 14 January.

The drop-in session for residents, with staff from the council's contaminated land section, will be held at Speymouth Hall in Mosstodloch from 1400 GMT to 1900 GMT.
