Police name motorcyclist killed in Aberdeen accident

Police have named a motorcylist who died after a road accident in Aberdeen.

Alan Campbell, 26, from Aberdeen, died after his Kawasaki bike hit a lamppost on Auchmill Road shortly before midnight on Thursday.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he later died of his injuries.

Grampian Police said Mr Campbell, who lived at the city's Ferguson Court, was the 21st person to die on the region's roads this year.

Earlier, a 14-year-old girl suffered a broken shoulder when she was hit by a car on the same road.
