North Dakota: D-Day plane puts on show in Highlands

C-47 Dakota lands at Inverness Airport

A Douglas C-47 Dakota lands at Inverness Airport after a display at Historic Scotland's Celebration of the Centuries event on Sunday.

The flypast by the aircraft, which took part in D-Day 70 years ago, was brought forward by an hour to avoid forecasted heavy rain and high winds.

The troop transport also flew on Saturday, when it was warm and sunny.

Celebrations of the Centuries is an annual event at Fort George at Ardersier.
