Moorland fire near Inverness posed risk to power line

Fire crews from Inverness and Dingwall tackled a major moorland blaze on Wednesday night south of Inverness.

Due to high winds, the fire was moving quickly towards electricity towers situated above Loch Ceo Glais on the B862 Inverness to Fort Augustus road.

Engineers from energy company SSE isolated the power on the section of line and firefighters prevented the flames from reaching the towers.

More than 20 remained on the scene for three hours dampening down the area.
