Man dies after vehicle crashes in North Uist

A 58-year-old man has died after his car was involved in a crash in the Western Isles.

The single-vehicle collision happened on the A867 near Lochmaddy, North Uist, shortly after 20:00 on Saturday.

The victim was named as William Morrison, from Locheport, North Uist.

The collision forced the closure of the road for some time, with diversions onto the A865. Police have been carrying out an investigation into the cause of the incident.
