Woman airlifted to hospital after crash near Muir of Ord

A 30-year-old woman was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after her car crashed on the B9169 near Muir of Ord.

Police Scotland said she was later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

A police spokesman said it was thought that she was in a "life-threatening condition".

The accident happened at about 07:06. Police closed the road from the Black Isle Showground to The Leanaig.

The road was later reopened.
