Man injured after being hit by car on A96 at Nairn

A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in the Highlands.

Police said the accident happened on the A96 at Nairn at about 15:15 on Tuesday.

The man was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where he is believed to be in a stable condition.

The road was closed for a number of hours and diversions were set up.
