Cairngorms objection to 20-turbine Cairn Duhie Wind Farm
The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) is to raise an objection against plans for the 20-turbine Cairn Duhie Wind Farm on Dava Moor.
The site near Ferness between Grantown-on-Spey and Nairn is about four miles (8km) from the park's boundary.
The Scottish government, which will have the final say on the project, had sought the CNPA's view.
The developer RES has said the scheme would generate electricity for up to 32,000 homes.
Funding would also be made available for community projects.
The park authority's planning committee agreed to object to the wind farm during a meeting in Ballater.
The park's planning officers had recommended that the CNPA raised no objection.
Convener Eleanor Mackintosh said: "There was a very strong feeling among members that - for many reasons - this was a wind farm too far, especially with the Dava Moor being an iconic route into and out of the park."
