New Inverness cycleway funding in place

Funding is in place to construct a new £638,000 cycleway in Inverness.

Highland Council said the Millburn Road Cycle Project would provide a safe route between the city centre and the new Inverness Campus at Beechwood.

The local authority's finance, housing and resources committee has approved the final £250,000 needed to complete the funding package.

The European Regional Development Fund and transport bodies Sustrans and Hitrans have also made contributions.
