Aberdeen firm withdraws plans for new Inverness hotel

Plans to build a new hotel in Inverness have been withdrawn by the developer.

Carlton Rock Ltd had proposed constructing the seven storey, 165-bedroom property on the site at Glebe Street, overlooking the River Ness.

Highland Council planning officers had recommended that councillors meeting on Tuesday gave the company planning permission.

Aberdeen-based Carlton Rock has declined to give an explanation as to why it has withdrawn the plans.
