Two killed in two-vehicle crash north of Fort William

Two people have been killed in a two-vehicle crash in the Highlands.

Stephen Lauder, 48, from Spean Bridge, and 53-year-old David McCook, from Fort William, died at the scene.

The collision occurred on the A82 north of Fort William, near to the Brackletter Junction, at about 11:50 GMT on Saturday.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene of the incident. The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.

Police Scotland appealed for witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who may have seen a northbound grey Renault Laguna or southbound silver Peugeot 307 at the time of the incident.
