Moray woman Catherine Cordiner dies after crash on A96

A 65-year-old woman has died in hospital following a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire on Tuesday.

The accident happened at about midday on Christmas Eve on the A96 in the Glens of Foudland near Huntly.

Police Scotland have named the woman as Catherine Cordiner from the Lossiemouth area in Moray.

Her silver BMW 3 series car was involved in a collision with a black Audi A3. The driver of the Audi, a 58-year-old man, was injured.

He was treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for a broken collar bone.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact the force.

Insp Ewan Innes said: "There would have been numerous cars in the area at the time that may have seen something and I would appeal to those drivers to come forward.

"We would be keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or who may have information."
