A six-year-old Highland schoolboy has been named the UK's biggest Doctor Who fan.

Flynn Gordon, who attends Holm Primary in Inverness, came top in a nationwide search by Doctor Who Adventures magazine.

He won with his idea for a themed tea party, his designs for new monsters and a letter explaining how much the show means to him.

Part of his prize was a visit to his school by a Cyberman.

The contest was held as part of the Doctor Who 50th anniversary celebrations.

Magazine editor Moray Laing said: "We had so many brilliant entries for the super fan competition, but Flynn's Monster Tea Party was an incredibly creative and unique idea.

"Accompanying his photograph, were new monster designs for the show and a fantastic letter telling us what Doctor Who means to him and his brother Crombie - who are known at school as the 'Doctor Who twins'."
