New lifeboat for RNLI Kessock

Atlantic 85 lifeboat An Atlantic 85 class will be delivered to RNLI Kessock in the new year

A lifeboat station in the Highlands is getting a new, larger and more powerful lifeboat.

RNLI Kessock at North Kessock, near Inverness, will have an Atlantic 85 class craft delivered in January next year.

It will replace the station's Atlantic 75 class lifeboat, The Moray Dolphin.

RNLI Kessock said the new boat would allow the station to put four crew instead of three out to sea and added that it would be faster and stronger.
