Police appeal after body found near Kyleakin on Skye

Police are trying to identify a man whose body was found in the sea near Kyleakin on Skye on Monday.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage. His body was found in the water at Kyleside.

Police Scotland said it hoped the public might be able to help in revealing his identity.

The man was between 35 to 45 years old, about 5'10" in height, of medium build, with short dark hair. He has the letter "G" tattooed close to his wrist.

He was found wearing a blue Everlast hooded top, a blue body warmer, dark coloured jeans, a Levi leather belt, a chrome Sekonda watch and a Help for Heroes wrist band.

He was wearing black Nike trainers and had a Reebok black and red backpack.
