Cyclist crossed track in front of train at Kingussie

A cyclist lifted his bike over lowered barriers at a railway level crossing before wheeling it over the track as a train approached, police have said.

British Transport Police said the incident happened at Kingussie in the Highlands about 16:50 on 11 August.

Investigating officer Nicky Ritchie said: "This was a pretty stupid act and the cyclist put himself in real danger.

"If you have any information regarding his identity please contact British Transport Police."
