A traditional Highland Games event that has not been contested in Scotland for 191 years is to be revived.

Saturday's City of Inverness Highland Games will be the first to stage the stone lifting competition.

Heavy athletes will be invited to launch a 252lb (18 stone) stone over a bar suspended 1.5m (5ft) above the ground.

Traditional Scottish Backhold wrestling is also to be held at the Inverness games.

It has not been staged previously at the city event but could become a regular feature.
