Police name man in Inverness mortuary investigation

An Inverness man whose body was said to have shown "potential signs of life" after being taken to a hospital mortuary has been named by police.

Julian Bell, 44, fell from the Kessock Bridge at Inverness on Friday night.

Attempts were made to resuscitate him at the scene, but he was pronounced dead.

Further efforts were made resuscitate Mr Bell at Raigmore Hospital's mortuary after staff detected potential signs that he was still alive.

NHS Highland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have launched reviews of the incident.

The case is also being investigated by the procurator fiscal.
