Police probe reports Western Isles man died in India

Police Scotland is investigating reports that a 28-year-old man from the Western Isles who went missing in India last month has been found dead.

The man from Stornoway was reported missing by his family on 31 May.

Police in the Kullu area of northern India have reported finding the body of a man fitting the description of the missing traveller.

Police Scotland said officers were liaising with Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The man, who has not been named by police, had been living in Glasgow before visiting India.

Kullu is in the foothills of the Himalayas.
