Suspected virus hits Oban and isles ferry service
A suspected viral infection among a ferry's crew has disrupted sailings between Oban and the Western Isles.
Caledonian MacBrayne said it had withdrawn its vessel the MV Lord of the Isles from service as a precaution.
Tuesday's service between Oban, Castlebay on Barra and Lochboisdale on South Uist has been cancelled.
CalMac said sailings for the rest of the week would also be disrupted. The ferry operator apologised to passengers for the inconvenience.
Six members of staff were affected. CalMac said no passengers had taken ill.
The 07:00 sailing from Barra to Oban and the 08:55 service from Lochboisdale to Oban on Wednesday have been cancelled.
Thursday's 15:40 sailing from Oban to Uist and Barra and Friday's 07:00 service from Barra to Oban and the 08:55 sailing from Lochboisdale to Oban have also been cancelled.
