The Duke of Edinburgh officially opened the new Highlanders' museum

The Duke of Edinburgh has officially opened the revamped Highlanders' Museum at Fort George, near Inverness.

Fundraising appeals and a grant from Historic Scotland have helped to generate the £2.9m needed to complete the project.

Work started on the redevelopment of the site in May last year.

The museum is dedicated to the Cameron Highlanders, Seaforth Highlanders and Queen's Own Highlanders and regiments associated with them.
