Reported sent to fiscal over Inverness provost ceremonial chains row

Police investigating claims that the provost of Inverness committed a breach of the peace during a row over the use of ceremonial chains have sent a report to the procurator fiscal.

Police have been making inquiries into an alleged row between Provost Alex Graham and deputy Glynis Sinclair.

Mrs Sinclair, who represents Culloden and Ardersier, has since resigned from the deputy provost post.

Northern Constabulary said its investigation was continuing.
