Power restored to 1,300 properties in Inverness

More than 1,000 properties in Inverness hit by a power cut have had electricity supplies restored.

Scottish Hydro Electric said 1,300 homes and businesses in Culloden, Smithton and Westhill lost power at about 05:50.

Engineers restored electricity supplies to the affected properties.

Scottish Hydro Electric said it was unable to say at this stage what had caused the outage, but added that an investigation was under way.
