New flats could offer homeless temporary accommodation

One-bedroom flats could be built in Inverness to provide temporary accommodation for people who find themselves unintentionally homeless.

Highland Council spends £2.6m putting people up in properties in the city, known as houses of multiple occupation.

It has been proposed spending the money on building flats.

The local authority's finance, housing and resources committee has agreed to the setting up of a project team to examine the idea.
