Highland police name man killed near Inverness on A82

Northern Constabulary have named a cyclist killed in a crash on the A82 near Inverness on Tuesday.

He was Alistair MacBean. The 74-year-old was from the Dalneigh area of Inverness.

The collision involved Mr MacBean's cycle and a car at the Dunain Straight, just south of the city.

Police closed the road to allow them to investigate the circumstances of the crash. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
