Injured walker airlifted from Ben Nevis to hospital

A 31-year-old walker was airlifted to hospital after he was injured while descending Ben Nevis on Monday afternoon.

The emergency services were alerted to the incident at Red Burn above Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe at about 16:00.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and a Royal Navy helicopter from HMS Gannet at Prestwick went to the walker's aid.

The man, who had slipped on a track, was flown to Belford Hospital in Fort William for treatment.
