Gaelic college in £3m funding boost

The Gaelic College, Sabhal Mòr Ostaig, is getting £3m for a new 40-acre site at Kilbeg, in the south of Skye.

The planned development would include 93 homes, new college buildings for research and teaching and a conference facility.

The cash is part of £20m being allocated by the Scottish government towards further and higher education.

It is coming from extra funding allocated to Scotland from the UK Treasury in the autumn statement.
