Reward offered after attack in Inverness

A reward has been offered for information that leads to arrests and charges after a man was seriously injured in an assault by two other men.

The incident happened in Mitchells Lane near Inverness's Porterfield Prison at about 14:30 on 13 December.

Northern Constabulary said the 32-year-old victim of the attack had required extensive treatment at Raigmore Hospital.

Charity Crimestoppers Scotland has offered a reward of up to £1,000.

One of the attackers was described as having red hair and the other black hair. Both were wearing dark clothing.

Ch Insp Graeme Murdoch said: "We have carried out an extensive investigation into this despicable crime but unfortunately, this has not yet led to any arrests.

"The victim has received very serious injuries and this only makes us all the more determined to track down those responsible."
