No objections mooted for Glen Moriston Estate wind farm

Officers at Highland Council are recommending that the local authority raise no objections to 36-turbine wind farm.

Energy company SSE has proposed the project for a site on Glen Moriston Estate in Invermoriston.

The Scottish government will have the final say on the planning application.

But a public local inquiry would have to held before any decision, if Highland councillors vote to oppose the project.

The local authority's south planning applications committee will be asked to give a view on the proposal next week. Officials have recommended no objection, provided a number of planning conditions are agreed to.
