Number of proposed turbines at Sutherland wind farm cut

The number of proposed turbines at a wind farm in Sutherland has been reduced from 43 to 34.

The developers of the Glenmorie Wind Farm, planned for Kildermorie and Glencalvie Estate, near Ardgay, have amended their plans.

Highland councillors will consider the proposal next week, though planning officers have recommended they raise no objection to the proposal.

Highland Council has received 121 objections to the wind farm.

They received just one letter of support.

The Scottish government has had 209 objections and 32 backing the plans.

Landscape conservation charity the John Muir Trust is among the objectors.

Councillors will meet on Tuesday.
