Body found in Applecross thought to be Steven Seel

Police believe a body found in a mountain gully in Applecross is a man reported missing in July.

Steven Seel, from Strathpeffer in Ross and Cromarty, had last been in touch with his family on 2 July.

He had been in Applecross at the time - almost 70 miles from his home.

Police and mountain rescue search teams found the body at Beallach Na Ba. Mr Seel's relatives have been informed, and a formal forensic identification will be carried out.

Aircraft, search dogs and more than 30 people were involved in the initial search for Mr Seel when he was reported missing.
