Last Cromarty fisherfolk dialect speaker dies


Retired engineer Bobby Hogg, 92, was the last person who was still fluent in the dialect used in parts of the Black Isle, near Inverness, has died.

His brother Gordon, who also spoke the Cromarty fisherfolk dialect, died last year.

In a recording for the BBC, they gave a flavour of some of the words they used.
