Teenager dies after one-car crash on B862 in Highlands

A 17-year-old has died following a one-car crash in the Highlands.

He was a passenger in a silver Citroen which crashed on the B862 between Whitebridge and Fort Augustus near the Suidhe viewpoint at about 22:05 on Saturday.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. He was said to be in a stable condition.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out. Police appealed for witnesses to come forward.
