Forestry worker airlifted from Highlands to Aberdeen

A forestry worker has been receiving treatment in Aberdeen after being badly injured in an accident in Sutherland.

The man suffered head injuries in a fall in Achfary Forest, near Kinlochbervie, at about 11:19.

He was first taken by an RAF helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, before later being transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Northern Constabulary said enquiries into the cause of the accident were at an early stage.
