A woman has died and two others are being treated in hospital after a two-car crash in Lewis.
It happened on the A857 between Stornoway and Barvas at about 15:00 on Monday.
A fire in one of the vehicles was put out by firefighters who then cut two of the casualties free from the wreckage.
Police said the road would remain closed until accident investigators examined the scene.
They have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
