Serving soldiers and retired military personnel have attended Inverness Highland Games and Armed Forces Day.

A parade from the city centre to the Northern Meeting Park included members of The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 Scots).

The battalion, which is based at nearby Fort George, has just returned from six-month tour in Afghanistan.

The armed forces day element of the occasion honoured servicemen and women and veterans.
