Wester Ross community treehouse to host Belladrum gig

Treehouse The treehouse was built in Lochcarron last year

A large treehouse built for the benefit of communities in Wester Ross will host a music festival's fringe event.

The treehouse was built last year as an environmentally-friendly community space for Lochcarron, Strathcarron and Kishorn.

The structure in Lochcarron featured in Sky TV's Great British Treehouse Challenge.

On 27 July, the treehouse will be a venue for a Belladrum Tartan Heart Fringe event.

Virtuoso guitarist Hamish Roberts and Blues singer-songwriter duo Texas Tim Scott and Matt Morrow will be among musicians playing sets.

Strathcarron-based Kirkton Woodland and Heritage Group worked with an architect and production company October Films on the treehouse project.

Electricity has been installed allowing it to be used for meetings, classes, school groups, music sessions, cultural events, weddings and photoshoots.
